The Grobag Collection

OUR GROBAG COLLECTION: Grobags (or Baby Sleeping Bags) are a wonderful way to keep your little one safe and snug at night while allowing your baby full free movement without the risk of sliding underneath the blanket. In fact a correctly fitting Grobag at the correct Tog rating is potentially one of the safest forms of bedding for your baby.

Grobag / Baby Sleeping Bag Information Guide:

What is a ‘tog rating’ ? - The Tog rating describes the warmth or "Thermal Resistance" of a product and the tog measurement is a European warmth rating and the higher the tog the warmer the product - For example, if the room your baby is sleeping in is quite cold, you would pick a Grobag with a higher Tog rating and for warmer rooms or in hot summer conditions you would choose a lower tog rating.

See the information below as a guide to choosing the correct Grobag:

Choosing a Grobag Size - An ideal time to start using a Grobag / Baby Sleeping Bag is when your baby weighs more than 8 lbs 8oz (0 - 6 months size). It is very important to check that your baby's head cannot pass through the neck-opening when the Grobag is on and closed. If it can then you need to choose a smaller Grobag.

Use the following guide to help choose the correct Tog Rating:

TOG RATING RECOMMENDED FOR:
0.5 Tog Ideal for Holidays or Heat waves (Hot weather and very warm rooms of 24 to 27°C )
1.0 Tog Perfect for Summer and Daytime naps (Warmer weather and in rooms of 21 - 23°C )
2.5 Tog Generally suitable for all year round (Standard room temperatures of 16 - 20°C)
3.5 Tog Colder Temperatures (Where room temperatures can drop below 16°C)

* Remember: Never use a Duvet or Quilt with a Grobag / Baby Sleeping bag

Its also important to ensure that your baby is not over dressed in a Grobag as this can also contribute to overheating. A light cotton vest or romper is ideal and if your baby's arms feel slightly cold you could consider using a Grosuit which has extra warmth around the shoulders and arms of the romper.
